Welcome to our Rosary. I'm Dr. Troy Hinkle, here with Team Carney. So I'm honored to be here with them and you. What's your name? Oh yeah. Archbishop Joseph Naumann is here too. So we are going to begin by calling to mine wherever in the presence of Almighty God in whom we live and move and have our being. We call upon Him in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Before we begin, let's pray for some people.

We're going to pray for Father Pete O'Sullivan.

We're going to pray for Eleanor Burke.

We're going to pray for Renee Garnett.

And we're going to pray for Olivia Conelli and her family,

and we're praying for Damian Clay and his family.

Our theme for this rosary is St. Cateri, Tekewitha, since this is her feast day.

Today is the feast day of St. Cotiri Teiquitha, nicknamed the Lily of the Mohawks.

Katiri is the first Native American to be canonized.

She was born in 1656, just outside of modern-day Albany, New York.

Her mother was baptized by Jesuit missionaries,

but she and Cotiri's father died of smallpox when Coteri was only four. The disease left terrible scars on Cotteris' face and created cataracts on her eyes that made her all but blind.

She would often cover her head with a blanket to hide

so that the youth in the tribe wouldn't make fun of her face.

Even though Kateri wasn't baptized until she was 19 years old,

she was taught two crucial things by her mother

that gloriously shaped her young life.

First, that there was one true God who became man and died on the cross.

And second, that this one true God should be served from one's heart.
