This is the movement of the Holy Family, leading people to Jesus through friendship, good conversation and the Rosary. So welcome to our Rosary meditation.

I am so blessed this evening to be at the home of the Sherman's gathered with family and friends.

We had some good jackstack barbecue and good conversation.

Now we're praying the rosary together.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those that we've promised to pray for.

Now we're continuing to meditate on the virtue of fortitude or courage.

Courage is first the determination to be happy.

But fortitude is also the virtue that enables us to overcome fear in the pursuit of the proper good, to make sacrifices and take risks, and to do what's right even when you don't want to, especially when things are hard or boring.

Mostly courage is to be willing to sacrifice what is lesser for the sake of what is greater.

The greatest thing is union with God and heaven.

Now there are really two primary ways to live out the virtue of fortitude. The first is

attack and the second is to endure. Now attack does not mean that it's your job to fix or condemn all the

people and problems you see. Attack means to eliminate any evil that is under your authority or within your

control. To eliminate any evil that's within your control.

Now we see Jesus live out this courageous attack

when he cleansed the temple with a whip.

The Jews intervened and said,

what sign can you show us to justify what you've done?

Jesus answered,

Destroy this temple and I will raise it up in three days.
