Welcome to our Rosary Meditation.

Today is May 1st, the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker.

Much of our meditation will be taken from the ideas in the letter of St. John Paul II on human work entitled Laborum Exorcons from

1981. So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It's called to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Now it is not limited to these four, but there are four essential ingredients to happiness

that everyone needs, family, friends, a relationship with God that also gives meaning and purpose

to suffering and meaningful work.

Jesus learned all of these not only from Mary, but let us not forget the role St. Joseph played in teaching Jesus these things.

Today on the Feast of St. Joseph, the Worker, we meditate on the meaning and purpose of work.

What is meaningful work?

Work is where we use our freedom and intelligence to do three things.

To help God make the world a better place.

To help other people receive what they need to reach their full potential.

And work helps us to get good at things we couldn't get good at any other way.

Most importantly, work helps us become a better person.

St. John Paul II wrote, through work,

man not only transforms nature, adapting it to his own

needs, but he also achieves fulfillment as a human being, and indeed, in a sense, becomes more
