Welcome back to another edition of Irish Illustrated Spotlight.

I am Tim O'Malley, joined again this week by Tim Priester.

And Tim, we decided to have a personnel-focused spotlight today because our annual summer

countdown that I will remind for the first time out of many on this discussion that we vote by May 1st.

We have hit the top 40. Well, we're about to hit the top 40 tomorrow, and that's an exciting time for the

countdown because those are the players that are going to play key roles. Last year, when we did our

postseason countdown, Tim and I, we came out to about 50 players that played key roles. It's interesting

because we've done the postseason for about six or seven years. And Tim, once, I don't

know if you remember this, we only had 35 that played key roles. So 50 played a key role last year.

We're into the top 40. And I will say to tease it a little bit, it's about to get interesting

because including yours today and mine tomorrow, I think eight of the next 10, which we aren't going

to fully discuss here, are really interesting subjects. I will reveal that Gibran Payne is one

of them and not the interesting subject anymore because he is out for most of the season

with an ACL injury. And that leads me back to when we vote, it's a week after the blue goal game every year and there's

four of us myself priester Kevin sinclair and John Bryce this season um andrew mentock excuse me andrew

mantock so there's five of us it it is uh it's interesting to collect them I collect them all so

I see them come in and I see some of the variations in numbers.

Tim and I, it's really important that we included three more people.

It's great to have Drew and J.B. on staff.

Last year, we had Tom and Drew Mentock helping do the countdown.

Because you and I are in too much lockstep with the countdown.
