podcast, and here I get a chance to give you a peek into the book.

I'm going to be reading from Chapter 9, and this is what Jan has written.

Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln, an awkward greeting.

Among the many intriguing anecdotes of famous after-death communications,

this humorous and fascinating incident took place in the White House around 1941.

Churchill, known for his wit and skepticism, was staying in the Lincoln bedroom during a visit

to Washington, D.C. during World War II. After stepping out of a bath, naked but for his cigar,

he reportedly encountered the hazy apparition of Abraham Lincoln, standing near the fireplace.

Churchill, ever quick on his feet, is said to have

quipped, Good evening, Mr. President. You seem to have me at a disadvantage. After a brief

exchange, Lincoln vanished. Churchill later shared the experience with King George the Sixth,

humorously claiming he was the only man to have received a head of state
