This week, Dan and I conclude our conversation about the realities of spiritual warfare

by talking about what it actually looks like for us to engage in this work.

more than prayer alone, inviting us to join others in community as we care for our bodies, participate

in rituals, grieve deeply, wrestle with our stories, and bring our entire embodied selves into the

ongoing work of the kingdom of God.

Well, Rachel, this is our last of a series on spiritual warfare. Not that we could cover

everything that we would want to cover and we will come back to this at a later point. But

our task at this point is to begin to ask, how do we do

warfare? And you and I have been talking some about the most recent article that you wrote

in the Allender Center blog and what it has brought for you to, let's just say, have a bigger sense of what warfare is,

as well as a bigger understanding of how to do spiritual warfare.

So I'd love for you just to sort of step in and walk us through from the article,

where you describe a heartbreaking sexual assault three years ago,

and what God has done in not just

working in your life, but how this has been part of the work of doing spiritual warfare.

Yeah, that's a great question. You know, I think one of the things that is true of any kind

of assault, but especially sexual assault,

is that for me, I knew that the harm was so directed at my body, which of course was connected

to my heart and my spirit and all of those pieces and parts.

And so I knew that true healing was going to have to engage my body.
