Welcome to Bible Thinker, the program dedicated to thinking

biblically about everything. I'm Mike Winger and today, well today we're

going to be getting into the topic of spiritual warfare as we continue

verse by verse through first Peter and it's really in looking at this

topic of spiritual warfare that we gain a new and fresh perspective on our lives

that I think we really desperately need. So let's get started.

Here we are in 1st Peter. We're actually in chapter 2,

verse 11 is where we're going to start. But I want to give you a little bit of a recap

because we can sometimes get, especially as we're moving slowly through a book,

we can sometimes lose the book in the book.

Sometimes we don't see the forest through the trees so to speak. So here's a brief little

recap, slightly different than I've done before, and Roman, first Peter 1. It, it says to the pilgrims.

And that sets the tone for the whole book.

It's our pilgrimage book.

It's all about the fact that we have a homeland,

not of this world, that we are on our way there and we're heading to our future

glorious home. We are not promised a comfortable life, but we are promised a glorious eternity.

So we are promised a glorious eternity.

So we are also told then in chapter one

that we have a living hope.

And then it gives all these reasons

why that hope we have is alive.
