Summary

From spirits to hand sanitizer. The world has changed since our last episode just two weeks ago. Today, we're going to talk about how a couple of local New Orleans businesses are working to help the city respond to the COVID19 pandemic.

Join me as I talk with Sal Bivalacqua of Seven Three Distilling and Jess Bourgeois of Lula Restaurant Distillery. These two business owners essentially used their expertise to create a new business in four days, shifting from the manufacture of spirits for drinking to the production of hand sanitizer.

We talk alcohol, hand sanitizer, Bourbon and more in this episode of the Beyond Bourbon Street podcast.

Resources

Check out Seven Three Distilling Company, then be sure to visit when you can. Their website talks about their company name, product offerings, and tour. We'll be doing a Beyond Bourbon Street event there once life returns to normal.

Lula Restaurant-Distillery is a unique place to enjoy excellent cuisine with views of a working distillery. We will work with Jess at Lula to host a Beyond Bourbon Street event in the future.

Both Lula and Seven Three are currently open for to go purchases. If you are in New Orleans, consider placing an order and supporting them.

Here are several articles discussing New Orleans neighborhoods. This is probably worth doing an entire episode about in the future!

Beyond Bourbon Street Sponsors

Please keep the Old No. 77 Hotel, Liz Wood Realty and 2 Chicks Walking tours in your plans we get through this. And know that, as bad as it is, we will get through this. When we do these businesses will be here to help you once again enjoy New Orleans.

Two Chicks Walking Tours

I love the tours offered by Two Chicks Walking Tours, but as much as the tours themselves I appreciate the way my friend Christine Miller has built her business. Christine loves and cares about her customers, the people she works with, and the city of New Orleans.

In addition to being long time sponsors of the Beyond Bourbon Street podcast the crew at Two Chicks Walking Tours has earned attention in numerous international publications including Glamour, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, The Sunday Times travel Magazine, and US News and World Report among others

Two Chicks small group tours include the ever popular Garden District Tour, signature tours such as DEAD Sexy, and Brothels, Bordellos and Ladies of the Night. And their classic the French Quarter and St. Louis Cemetery tours. They also offer private tours that can be customized just for your group.

Two Chicks employs guides that are published authors, local artists and really engaged New Orleanians.

Whatever you choose, know you will be in great hands and will have a wonderful time. The team at Two Chicks is continually learning more about New Orleans which means the tours are constantly evolving. Use code BEYOND and save 15%. twochickswalkingtours.com

Liz Wood Realty

The most frequent questions I get are about moving to New Orleans. If you are ready to make the move, you need a good realtor.

That's where Liz Wood comes in. Let Liz and her team help you find the right place. They can help whether you plan to rent or purchase New Orleans is a terrific city, but choosing the neighborhood that's the best fit for you can be overwhelming.

Liz makes the process fun and easy.

Uptown? Downtown? Midcity? The 9th ward? – Liz can help you sort it out!

Reach out to Liz and make your dream of living in New Orleans a reality. Several members of our community have done just that and are thrilled with their new homes You will be, too!

The other thing that sets Liz apart is what she does after she helps you find a home. Liz does a great job at building community and helping you get connected with people in your new area. When you're ready to make New Orleans home, reach out to Liz.
