Hello everyone and welcome to another episode to spill the baby tea, a podcast where we

can only talk about all things motherhood and parenthood.

My name is Helen Wu Wang, I'm a mom to a 22 month old baby boy and I'm here to create

a space where we can all share, connect and feel a little less alone.

Today's episode is one where I feel a bit nervous to record because I am by no means

an expert on this subject. I'm aware that I am able to record this episode from the comforts

of my own home in a peaceful surrounding and I recognize that many are not afforded this luxury.

What is happening right now in the Middle East absolutely shatters my heart into a million

pieces and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels unsure how to glue it all back together.

I know maybe boy who is not even two years old yet can't comprehend what is going on in the world

and I won't try and explain to him just yet but I've been reading up a lot about the conflict

itself and also since I'm a parent now I've been curious about how to have these difficult

conversations with my son one day because I think it is inevitable that at some point in his lifetime

he will have to process and face the harsh realities of the world.

By learning how to educate him early on I hope to create a world where he can feel safe

to navigate his own emotions. To all the parents who are just trying to process and be a strong

figure for a little's out there during these difficult times I wanted to say that we are in this

together so let's get this episode started.
