Halloween is fast approaching: many people are flocking to horror nights, exploring haunted houses, and watching movie thrillers. However, as people who get too easily scared and try to avoid these spooky encounters, we wondered: what are the reasons why humans might seek out horror and scary experiences? So we did a deep dive into this topic, exploring the psychological and relational benefits of scary entertainment.
