| 0:00.0 | Gone are the days of cultural Christianity, but that doesn't mean we can't add Fonters, return to the source. |
| 0:07.5 | Today we're talking a little bit about Reformation 500 years ago and today. |
| 0:17.5 | Welcome to the Shepers Faithful Podcast, episode number 165, truth and encouragement to live gospel-centered lives every day. |
| 0:25.7 | I'm your host, Lauren Lushak. |
| 0:29.4 | Hi, everyone, and welcome to the podcast. My name is Lauren, and welcome. |
| 0:34.0 | This is the Reformation edition of the Sheprooves Faithful podcast every year. I think for the past |
| 0:38.8 | four years, maybe five. Now, I have done a special episode on the Reformation. Usually I talk |

| 1:18.2 | the authority of scripture, returning to Christ being the only way of salvation that Christians |
| 1:24.0 | live for him and under his lordship and for his glory, and that the kingdom of God is advancing, |
| 1:29.8 | and to want to be a part of that and to stand up for the truth of the gospel so that people might know Jesus and be saved from their sins, |
| 1:38.4 | because there's no other way. So I wanted to touch on that today, and hopefully encourage us that God's mighty hand is at work |
| 1:45.4 | and it will spur us on in our own time and history. |
| 1:49.8 | So really quick, what is the Reformation? |
| 1:52.1 | Well, this is a time in history, really in the 1500s, where there was a reform. |
| 1:58.0 | There was a lot of corruption going on in the Roman Catholic Church, |
| 2:01.7 | and there needed to be reform in it because the scriptures were not in people's languages. |
