House Democrats will strongly oppose any legislation that does not decisively address the Republican health care crisis.

That's House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffrey speaking to CNN's Wolf Blitzer earlier today.

The New York Democrat says he expects the House to vote on the Senate's stopgap measure tomorrow to reopen the government.

Eight members of the Democratic caucus in the Senate voted to pass the measure last night

without securing their party's demand to guarantee extending Enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.

It's unclear if any House Democrats will cross over to support the package.

Speaker Mike Johnson can only afford to lose two Republican votes.

But the push to end the shutdown could hinge on whether House members' plans to return

to Washington are derailed by travel chaos.

I'm concerned that we're not going to have on day one controllers come back into the towers

right away. I'm asking them to do that. President Trump has asked them to do that.

It is their jobs and they will be paid, but it might not be immediate that they come back in.

That's Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

He says flight cuts at 40 busy airports will only end, quote, when the data says we should.

But he says regular flight schedules should resume by Thanksgiving if a funding deal passes

and air traffic controllers return to work.

The top border patrol official leading the Trump administration's immigration crackdown in Chicago

is expected to leave town as early as this week.
