Okay, you're about to hear an interview with Jeff Jones about a new book that's called Rebranding Christianity when the most important brand loses its way.

It's the name of the book. And to give you a little background on Jeff, I'll read his bio here. It says since 2004, he served as the lead pastor of Chase Oaks Church, a multi-site church in Dallas recognized as one of America's largest and fastest growing churches.

He loves Chick-fil-A, Alabama football, and most importantly, making it easy for any person to experience the profound love of Jesus.

He's also the host of a podcast called The Good Complex, which he launched in order to create a place where common good is the focus in love, grace, and humility when the day.

Jeff is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary. So you're going to hear this interview.

I had just done it at the recording of this thing. And you'll be able to tell that I really appreciate him.

And if you listen to my podcast, you know, I think a lot of our problem is with church and way people perceive it as they think it's a business.

So obviously when I saw Rebranding, I was like, what do we mean by this? So you'll hear that. I really appreciate it. His graciousness with me, even though I'm coming at it from a different angle.

And I appreciate Jeff a lot as a brother. The book is again, it's called Rebranding Christianity. And here you go.

I was looking through this book and there's a lot here on branding. So what prompted you to go this direction and write this book?

Yeah, I'm a pastor of a church in Dallas who grew up in a family that wasn't already in a round church.

And so it's always given me a passion ever since I was a teenager to do church in a way that people outside church could connect to.

And in looking at what's happened in the reputation of Christianity and our culture and the repulsion people have, you know, with the brand.

In our own area, as well as around the country, prompted me to say, man, we've, we've got to do so. We're losing a generation.

And it's on us to manage and steward the brand. Jesus gave us that responsibility.

And so if you use the analogy of Christianity as a brand, we're brand that's in trouble.

And it's on us to represent Jesus in a way where that doesn't happen. So how do we address the problem? So that's really what was underneath the book.

Yeah, it makes sense. And I, I'm reading this I'm struggling with some of it. I basically fall with you on almost everything here.

But the brand idea, I get it as an analogy to just say, we've got a perception problem.

Right, but I wonder the thing I keep, I was wondering is I was looking through this is like, do you think if we were nailing it, if we were actually doing Jesus stuff, if we were embodying him, that we'd have a good brand that people would approve of us, they wouldn't hate us, like they hated him or like, I was tripping up on that.
