Hello, American Presti's listeners. It's Derek, and I am very pleased to welcome back to the program.

This is his second time on American Presti's first time that I've gotten a chance to talk to him.

We're very excited to welcome back.

Afif Nasuli, he is a journalist, splits time between Beirut and New York and was just in Beirut until a couple of days ago.

So obviously we'll have some things to say about the conflict in Lebanon.

This is something we've been talking about on the show in the context of the wider war between Israel, the U.S. and Iran, but we haven't

focused exclusively on Lebanon, which we're going to do today. So, Afif, thank you for coming on

the program, and I'm glad you were able to get out of there safely. Yeah, I really appreciate you

all covering Lebanon specifically and having me on the show.

So maybe let's just start with an open-ended question. What is the current state of things in Lebanon?

We know the IDF is invading the South. They sent a third division in, I think, a couple of days ago,

or ordered a third division in. They're planning to occupy everything up to the Lutani River.

So we know that piece of it.

There have been airstrikes going on, initially concentrated in the South and East,

but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
