And I want to talk to another guy who is not an Amby introducer.

Robert Mays, welcome to the athletic host of the athletic football show.

It's the whole show about the whole sport.

But you also write some really good stuff. And we are really proud to have you. So thank you, Robert, for coming on board. Appreciate that. I'm happy to be here. I am so glad they had the title of the podcast before I signed up, because if you think about the other podcasts that I've had, I had the Grantland NFL podcast, the ringer NFL show,

and the athletic football show. If you can sense a trend, I am not good at naming things. So I'm very

glad they had it already. It was great. Yeah. You can just go with the name. We made this,

we made this show my own name. And then we didn't realize that the initials of the show spell ass and then we

were stuck with it it's a great marketing tool i actually support it oh the t-shirts are getting

printed right now we we got home field apparel on as a sponsor we're going to get some ass t-shirts

it's going to be great so no but i was laughing because in your AFC East preview, you had your good friend

Bill Barnwell on, and he's clowning you immediately from the jump on your podcast intro.

And those of you who listen to this show, no, I can't do anything but the welcome to the

Andy State.

It's all I got.

All I got. When you settle into a habit or you settle into a comfort zone with something like that, it's hard to change it. And we're going on like a decade of podcasting now and I've done it the same way at every single show. If I try to do it a different way, I think I might physically hurt myself. It would just be so awkward, they would just go so terribly. I'm just not going to do that. I worked with a guy in radio, and he said, yeah, hey, folks is my thing as we come into the show. And I'm like, I don't think you can lay a claim to, hey, folks. It's not like Walter Cronkite saying, and that's the way it is. I mean,

it's sort of like the college fans will appreciate the voice of the gators, Mick Hubert,

the guy who announces Florida football and basketball games. His catchphrase is, oh my.

Like, I don't think the patent and trademark office would let you trademark that. I think it's in

the public domain.

It's all about inflection, though. It's all about timing and the tempo. That's my thing is I do the welcome and then I do the pause and then I go in. It was always funny at the ringer people thought that I timed it up to the music because it was always perfect. The music would always end and I'd come right in.
