Hello and welcome to a special edition of the Counseling T podcast with me, Rorya Lee's Oaks.

And with me for this first special edition that we've ever recorded is my good friend and fellow

traveller in the world of existential experimentation. Mr Ken Kelly, how you doing, Ken?

I'm doing well. I like all the ease in there. Is that

alliteration, that existential experimentation? It's good to be here. And the reason that this is

special is because the counselling tutor podcast goes out weekly, but it only goes out during

United Kingdom academic term time. And it's not UK academic term time right now. So that's why

it's special. And also we wanted to cover a topic maybe more in depth rather than jumping from

topic to topic. And the topic that we're going to be covering today, Rory's going to introduce,

is kind of really plastered across the news in the UK right now.

Absolutely. And before I kind of go into the preamble and McKenna myself talked through about

this topic, we are going to be talking about sexual abuse and the impact of sexual abuse.

So if this is something that may be affecting you or affecting someone

around, you'd just be thoughtful. We're not in a training room. We can't contain people. We're on

the internet. But it's just to be just to be thoughtful about it. And one of the reasons that

we're doing a special is because this has been quite an extraordinary week here in the

UK. We've had two quite huge events. The first is the death of someone called Ian Brady.

Now, for those of you are not listening in the UK, Ian Brady and his partner, Myra Hindley,

were child abusers and child murderers in the 60s.
