This is the last in our series of specials from the party conference season.

I'm in Glasgow with the SMP.

Now that sound you can hear about is the sound of the

S&P delegates enjoying their lunch and no doubt talking about independence because bluntly that is what they do.

Although it's not officially on the menu here. One of the really striking things arriving in Glasgow

and thumbing through the official agenda is that none of the motions and debates

planned at the main conference hall mentioned independence at all.

Looking around the conference end of the SEC on the bank of the Clyde, There were lots of big yellow boards with a slogan

progress listing the many achievements of the SMP government scrapping the public

set a pay cap, phasing out petrol vehicles, more money for

schools, more money for hospitals, the new Queens Ferry crossing, votes it's 16.

You name it, every area... Scottish life is covered there

with the small exception of whether or not it stays in the union the party leadership

seems to have

tried to uh... impose the message that they are

not talking about independence as much they were,
