We are hosting a Small Business Town Hall on June 10th, 2020 from 6 - 8 pm EST. This town hall is about coming together in solidarity to publicly commit to using our power and influence as small business owners to actively make progress in the fight for racial justice and equity. 0:00.0	Over the last week, I have spent quite a bit of time calling out entrepreneurs,
0:06.6	large business owners who ignored the Black Lives Matter movement
0:12.1	and didn't take enough action or took the wrong action in response to this movement.
0:20.5	But as a leader, I have to ask myself, what else will I do?
0:25.3	Just calling people out is not enough. I can't call out everyone, as loud as my voice may be,
0:31.9	and I can't spend all my time raging on social media. But what I know for sure is that we cannot ever go back to
0:40.8	business as usual. Never ever. We must commit as small business owners to using our influence,
0:48.7	our resources, and our power to build a better world. Otherwise, what is the point? Money is nice. Y'all know I love money,
0:56.9	but what's the point when your work has a shitty impact on the world, right? And we live in a
1:03.2	shitty world that is built on racism. So what I have decided to do is host a town hall for the small business community this Wednesday
1:14.1	called Reimagining Small Business. We will come together as a community to listen, learn,
1:20.3	and commit to building anti-racist companies that can have a tremendously positive impact on the world.
1:30.7	I have asked some of my trusted friends and advisors to join us, including Erica Hines, who is a DEI consultant and expert on racial equity,
1:38.2	certified master life coach Susan Hyatt, who has been the white woman whisperer for quite a long
1:44.1	time in the coaching industry.
1:46.5	I've also asked Nathan Barry of ConvertKit and Sonia Renee Taylor of The Body is Not an
1:53.3	apology. And my best friend Robert Hartwell of the Broadway Collective will be our MC for the
1:59.6	evening. Together we will present a plan for
2:02.8	small businesses who are committed to building anti-racist organizations. We will ask you to take the
2:07.8	pledge and commit to building a bright future for all of us, which means it must include those of us
