I never thought I'd be saying this, but here we are.

So yes, after years of hunching over a microphone in this tiny studio, just me, my notes, and a can of Pepsi. I'm finally stepping out of the shadows,

sort of, because The Devil Within is now a television show. Yes, starting August 31st, the first season

of The Devil Within, our deep dive into the haunting 1989 murder suicide of Tommy Sullivan and his mother Betty in my

beloved hometown of Jefferson Township, New Jersey, has been adapted into a four-part

documentary series for MGM Plus entitled Let the Devil In.

And before you say it, no, this is not just the podcast with pictures on YouTube. This is not a dramatic

reread of season one with soft lighting and ominous violins. No, this is a full-blown,

boots on the ground, camera in the living room, documentary series. And it's executive produced by

Eli Roth, the King of Horror himself, the man who made hostile and cabin fever

and founding member of the Splat Pack. So yeah, he understood the assignment. But here's what I

really need you to know. This series goes deeper, much deeper. So let's rewind for a moment.

When I first told the story of Tommy Sullivan, I did what any obsessed podcaster does. I'd scrape the internet. I chased leads. I lost sleep. I called friends. I wrung every ounce of story out of what I had. But as many of you know, the deeper I dug, the more silence I ran into.

Key people wouldn't talk.

Doors were shut.

Phone calls went unanswered.

And in some cases, it felt like the whole town of Jefferson Township was under some kind of spell.

Like they'd collectively decided that this story this trauma was best

buried in the woods where it happened but time changes people sometimes it

heals sometimes it softens and sometimes it just makes people realize that

staying silent doesn't make the nightmares go away. Plus, you know, TV.
