Summary

Normally in making a speaker potluck episode I grab files without listening to them, and you get what you get. This time its slightly different, I had a listener submission by a guy named Nick F speaking at the Kern River Valley Alano Club Pot Luck meeting held only 2 days ago. Nick has been sober a year and nine months and for whatever reason I did listen to this and felt compelled to share it with you and I dont question those moments. The result is a partial speaker potluck, I haven't listened to the two 15 min speakers Im adding in so we are calling this one Speaker Potluck 14.5! 0:38.4	a new thing for me because usually I live in a state of fear and insecurity and my sobriety
0:45.9	date is 8, 7, 19 and I think I got about a year or 9 or 10 months I'm in that spot right

0:56.7	It's been an interesting journey and before I get into that part of it, I probably should
1:03.8	tell you where I came from and I kind of live on my background.
1:07.8	So my background is I was born in Riverside in 1972, I was born to two folks, they were
1:14.4	hippies and they were about 19 and 20 when I was born and they were pretty footless and
1:19.5	fancy-free and drugs and alcohol and free sex and all that stuff kind of ran rampant
1:25.3	through those times of people's lives and yeah totally ridiculous.
1:31.5	And my dad was a two tour Vietnam War vet and he was at 20 years old and he was very
1:40.3	damaged from that.
1:41.6	My mom was raised by brutally merciless, violent alcoholic, my grandfather Ed with her five
1:51.0	sisters and they're from the Dust Bowl and they migrated out to California at some point
1:56.6	in their lives and so my dad said the family is New York, Italians and they always stayed
2:03.4	there.
2:04.4	My great grandparents and that said I knew very well and they immigrated from Malta and
