Sadiq, do you believe that Boris Johnson should reveal where this £15,000 present came from?

He should, honestly, and accurately, and I'm sure as the day proceeds, we'll find out who really donated the gift of a all-expenses

paid trip to the Caribbean to spend his Christmas holidays. I think, you know, if it is the

case that he's made a mistake or an error, I think it's not sustainable for that to continue

during the day. Ashley, have you ever been offered a gift of a holiday in the Caribbean during the Christmas

holidays?

No, and if, and I work for a private company, if I was offered that by somebody bidding on a

contract or something like that, my boss would ask me, well, is it going to affect your, is it going to affect your decision making? It would ask me who it was. Yeah. My boss would ask me, well, is it going to affect your decision making?

It would ask me who it was, why it was given and what happened.

I've obviously got a very big view on it, but I think I've got a dim of view on that some of the public seem to think that it's okay just because we like somebody that this happens. I don't like that Tony Blair did it. I wouldn't like it if you did it.

Yeah. And that's kind of my argument. And actually, you've raised the number of the issue. So whenever I receive any gifts, as you do is because of the office I hold, you've got to declare them within a certain amount of time above a certain level. And I used to be an MP. And similarly, you'd declare it. And I used to be a minister and there's a ministerial code that applies. And the reasons for the reasons you suggest, if you start accepting gifts, the question that it begs is, is that in some way influencing the decisions you make? And that's why we need complete transparency in relation to this. There are some countries around the world

where the politicians aren't as transparent
