Summary

Romans 10:14-17 - How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

mindset, welcome. I'm so glad you're here. My name is Carrie Green. I invite you to

0:12.1

join us every day as we walk through the scriptures in an

0:16.6

effort to get our minds aligned with the truth of God. We've been doing so by looking

at the book of Romans.

We are in chapter number 10, beginning in verse 14 today.

Now Romans chapter 10, versus 14 through 18, is where we're going to focus today.

Paul has been speaking about the place that the Jewish people have in God's plan and he

0:48.4

is saying that many of them have missed the boat so to speak when it comes to faith

0:52.4

because they pursued a righteousness

0:55.8

that comes about by obeying the law. But there's a problem there. You can't really obey the law of God

1:02.1

because it's too big. There's too much to it and no

1:05.4

human being can pull it off. And so what's the answer? Well Paul has made the point very

1:11.2

powerfully that Jesus Christ is God's answer to that dilemma. Jesus

1:16.9

Christ came and he fulfilled the law. He lifted it out perfectly and he died on

1:21.3

the cross to pay the penalty for our sin because you see there's

1:25.2

not just the issue of the fact that we can't keep the law. There's the issue of the fact

1:30.6

that we can't keep the law means we are sinners and our sin is offensive to the holy God.

1:36.0

And so Jesus took our place.

1:38.0

And Paul's point is that those who believe in Jesus Christ can have their sins forgiven.
