Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible,

chapter by chapter, book by book.

Today we are going to begin a teaching from Acts Chapter 23 called Speak No Evil. Given that title,

we don't want to say too much, so let's get right to our study. Here now is Pastor John.

Acts Chapter 23, and Paul earnestly beholding the counsel, he said,

men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until or up to this day.

And the high priest, Ananias, commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

Then Paul said to Ananias, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall.

For sittest thou to judge me after the law and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law. And they that stood by said, revilest thou

God's high priest? Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest, for it is written,

thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

In our text, we see Paul the Apostle being brought before the Supreme Jewish Council.
