The Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster is one of the deadliest events in NASA's history.

The Challenger was NASA's second space shuttle to enter service on April 4th, 1983,

and it made a total of nine voyages before its final one in 1986.

The goal of Mission 51L was to launch the second tracking and data

relay satellite into space. It would also shuttle the first teacher in space, Krista McCullough, who would conduct lesson plans from orbit and spend the subsequent months lecturing students across the United States.
