Low Earth orbit is the lower, somewhat lower concept.

This is about weaponizing space underway right now. What needs to be done.

If I understand correctly, Henry, from this article at Real Clear Defense, What is being entertained is that Space Force needs a bigger

budget and one of the things that wants to do with that budget is build an array

a constellation of satellites that are capable of defending the United States and our allies from Russia and China.

How defend? What is low-Earth orbit afford?

Well, I think the article wasn't impugning the plans of the Space Force so much as urging the space

force to adopt the plan of

deploying space-based interceptors that could see a launch of a ballistic

missile with a hypersonic front end or just a regular ballistic missile

and shoot a kinetic round at that plume before the missile really got very far up into space and

knock it out.

it also, of course, an interceptor like that could shoot at any point on the ground of

military value even if it wasn't a missile and sure you could turn it around and have the interceptor shoot at things

that were satellites in space.

So it's a very leveraged concept that they're pushing.

We talked about this 40 years ago under Reagan.

We didn't have the technology.

We do now.
