You and I have had a lot of really interesting exchanges about some really important ideas, I think, that are coming to the surface here increasingly in the

21st century. And the big one here is sovereignty. Sovereignty really seems to be changing

rapidly in the digital age. It's something that we've long associated mostly with, you know, the state

or perhaps a monarch or some other ruler. Can we just start in the deep end of the pool? How do you

define sovereignty? How do I define sovereignty?

How do I define sovereignty? So I think of sovereignty as a continuum.

And what I mean by that is what things can you do on your own without being vetoed by somebody else, without having permission,

you know, from some outside entity or outside force?

So, you know, for most people, they can move stuff around their room, right?

They can move chairs around.

But they can't go outside and put up a street sign or take one down or edit most of the physical environment, even in their own house, you know, to put up a shed is actually something that's difficult to do in California, for example, without all these permits.
