By now, we've probably all heard about the amount of snow that fell on the West Coast as

this past winter. But what's it like to try to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2023?

That's my doubt.

Our first letter comes from Kalman Tinka. I hope I'm saying that right. If I'm not,

I'd like to apologize.

He has this to say, first, I really enjoy your show.

The episode you did with Dan Becker was so good. There were so many good points and

tips shared and it's so very important to share the bad moments as well as so much as

the good ones. All in all, it was a great lesson and I have great respect for both of you.

I did have one small correction that is a common thing. I work in the outdoor retail

and sell satellite communications. And I think it's important for safety reasons that

people know that you do need a subscription plan, even for using the SOS button. The

SOS will not work without an active subscription.

I only bring it up due to safety reasons. I certainly don't want to be that guy. Ha ha.
