Summary

What would you do if you weren’t afraid? That’s the question spiritual teacher and intuitive guide Sonia Choquette wants you to think about.

In this chat with Fearne, Sonia explains how to have more agency over your own mindset. It’s time to stop thinking the worst, and start expecting the best!

Sonia talks through how neuroscience is showing that our guts, skins, and organs are all conscious entities. Once we understand this, we understand why it’s so vital not to surpress our body’s intuition.

Do you have repeated physical ailments? Sonia wonders that tending to your emotional troubles could dramatically impact your physical health. Plus, laughter can put you firmly back in your physical body, so is the secret to stopping overthinking to start taking the mick out of your anxious thoughts...?

Sonia’s book, Soul Mastery, is out now.

Hello, I'm Fern Cotton and this is Happy Place, the show that encourages you to get into your

0:06.2

body and spirit to calm anxieties. Today I'm chatting to Sonia Chiquette. So when you're

0:12.0

asking yourself to change a belief, you're basically uninformed responses. That's like cutting off my

0:17.8

arm. What we haven't shifted is the basic understanding that I am not a robot that's programmed.

0:24.6

I am a spiritual being. And in current time, I have the power to choose differently if I'm willing.

0:33.8

And I have to then take myself out of memory and come back into empowered moment.

0:41.8

This particular episode came about because I was having before Christmas a particularly

0:47.2

shitty m'kshit week where just like everything was going wrong, some major stuff,

0:53.4

some health niggles, but also just like

0:56.6

small practical things are going wrong, like not having running water one day, my washing machine

1:02.3

breaking, just like the usual crap that when you're already a bit stressed out really pisses you

1:07.8

off. And I was just feeling a bit like over everything. And I ended up

1:13.9

remembering that Sonia had very kindly posted me her brand new book. And I thought, right,

1:20.5

if any signs are pointing towards anything right now, it's for me to stop and to pause for a

1:26.6

minute and read some literature that's

1:29.2

going to be uplifting. And I sat and I read half of this book in the evening in one go. And my mindset

1:35.9

completely shifted. And I think that that is a really good reminder that yes, you know,

1:43.6

we've all got stuff going on and life

1:45.8

isn't perfect and curveballs will be thrown our way throughout life. But we've got much more

1:51.2

control over the perception we have of it and how we react to it and we care to believe. And I'd

1:58.6

really sunk at that point into just feeling a bit sorry for

2:01.1

myself, which is okay. You know, we're all allowed to do that. But I was in the, I was in danger of getting stuck in that. And this book really pulled me out of it. So I thought, do you know what? If this book has had such great impact on me, we need to get Sonia back on. She'd actually been on the podcast before a while back to talk more specifically about mediumship and psychickness, which we do touch on in this chat. But we also
