Summary

The wind on the Montana prairie always sounded haunted, but for Jessica, the real nightmare began at age ten — the night a plastic toy hurled itself off a shelf and shattered against the wall. That was just the first sign of a true haunting that would shadow her for decades.

In the old farmhouse near a Native burial ground, knives slid off tables, doors slammed on their own, and at twelve she woke to invisible hands choking her — red finger-marks burned into her skin by morning. At sixteen, she dreamed of being branded by a Devil-like figure, and woke with a blazing handprint on her chest that lasted for days. Night after night, the basement echoed with the scrape of unseen shovels across concrete.

Jessica saw a shadow figure step out of her closet, and later watched a black, shapeless smear bloom across the ceiling before vanishing. Most chilling of all was the slow creak of a phantom door — in a home that had only one real door.

From Montana to Michigan, something unseen seemed determined to follow her… or had always been with her.
