Summary

EP538. In this episode, I’m showing up real and raw to talk about the not-so-glamorous side of mom life. From navigating the chaos of solo parenting while sick, to my ongoing battle with chronic sinus infections, I’m sharing it all. I also open up about those moments when your child says something that stings... only to remind myself that their little prefrontal cortex isn’t fully developed yet. And for a wild twist, I tell the story of my sinus surgery in 2015 that went horribly wrong (yes, it’s as bad as it sounds).

I host a nutrition myth-busting podcast called Bite Back with Abby Sharp. And those are just some of the questions I tackle with qualified experts on my show.

their body, and themselves, which in my opinion is the

fundamental secret to good health. Listen to bite back wherever you get your podcasts.

They last so long. But the thing is, they're really bad for a couple days. And then you just feel like garbage for like 10 days.

You don't feel bad enough to sit and do nothing. So you literally just struggle

1:13.5

all day to have a normal day, but you feel like garbage. I am recording this Wednesday afternoon

and I got my first sign of symptoms last Tuesday evening. I developed like this really weird,

1:31.0

soft little dry cough. It was really annoying.

And I honestly thought it was from getting my hair done. Like I thought I breathed in hair spray because they used so much product. And I was like in a tiny bathroom breathing it in. And I'm super sensitive to

sprays and things and fragrances. So that's what I thought it was.

And then once I got home, laid down in bed, could not stop coughing.

Wednesday morning I woke up.

I had no sleep at all and felt like garbage was in bed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Sunday, I felt a little bit normal. I brought Milo

to CrossFit. And now I'm just trying to have normal days, but I still feel like garbage. And it's

really frustrating. So on the mom room Instagram account on the stories, I was talking about

thinking about Milo's prefrontal cortex lately. And it's funny because I saw
