Hello, friends. It's Sean Rope here, host of the Latter Day Lives podcast and kind of different this week

because this is not actually an episode of the Latter Day Lives podcast. Instead, I just wanted to check in on a couple of things that happened this past week.

Last weekend, what an incredible conference we had. And one of the things that came out of women's conference was a challenge it was a challenge that our youth had already

received and it was given to the women to do a social media fast and this is

interpreted by everybody according to their own dictates I've talked to some

women who decided hey it's all social media someone who decided, hey, it's all social media.

Someone very close to me said it's all social media except Pinterest, which she doesn't consider

social. And I think that's great for her and others. It's been a total media fast. They've said,

look, we're getting off of YouTube and we're getting away from podcasts for 10 days. And I think

for each person, it's to them

to figure out. And that's why I kind of love this whole thing is because every person's going to

find their own way. Well, anyway, earlier this past week, I was in my office down in Southern

California. And that evening, I was on Facebook and was checking in our

group. We have a group of Latter-day Saint podcasters. And somebody brought up the question,

hey, with so many people stepping off of social media and social media being such a big part

of what we do with our podcasts and some people walking away from media at all

for 10 days. Does anyone plan to do anything different? And I had not. I hadn't planned on

changing anything at all. In fact, was super excited about our next guest. But the more I thought

about, the more I prayed about, the more I realized it's a great opportunity

for me to step back. And I'm on Facebook and Instagram especially, Facebook and Instagram

quite a bit and I find that I check it quite often. And then and there I decided to commit to this social media fast and to really cut back my overall media intake this past week.
