Summary

This week I spoke with author Mary Jelkovsky. Mary also had me on her podcast, so this episode is a combination of the two interviews. We talk about how her disordered eating and recovery led her to find this podcast. And how our experiences within that impacted the work we each do now, as well as ambition, talking about what we do to strangers, how our age gap impacts how we each use social media, body image, creative output, evolving niches, and more.

Hi. Hi, welcome back. Thank you for being here. Welcome if you're new. You're about to hear a

conversation with a new friend I made, Mary. And part one is actually part two, the second part that we recorded, because I was a guest on

0:39.9

her podcast. She interviewed me and I'm putting bits and pieces of that, a pretty big chunk

She had to get to a dinner party.

And so we spoke so long before we started recording and then on her podcast that this one's only about

1:13.5

45 minutes because she had to go.

1:16.2

And we weren't even going to record it at all.

1:19.1

And what you're about to hear is us talking about what she said to me.

1:23.5

So I was guest on her show, which is called Mary's Cup of Tea.

1:27.3

And then instead of recording for

1:30.1

my podcast and recording an interview with her, she suggested that I just aired that conversation

1:37.5

where I was a guest here and I was reluctant to it because I wanted to interview her. And I'm glad I did and we didn't have as much time as I wanted so I hope she comes back. But we met for the first time here and Mary is so wise and we have this really interesting conversation around our age gap and how that impacts how we both interact with social media

2:05.4

and our thoughts on it and we talk about marketing and how that relates to basically how

2:13.2

I'm terrible at it and what that means and it was a really lovely afternoon to get to spend
