0:00.0 | Hello everyone, welcome to Sigmundritian Radio, episode 168. My name is Gar Ben and I'm a coach here at Sigma Nutrition. |
0:23.9 | Today I'm joined by Danny Lennon, who everyone should know at this stage and coach Arthur Lynch. |
0:29.1 | Say hi guys. Hello, Gar. Hello, everyone. Right, so today what we're going to do is we're going to talk through a couple of topics within powerlifting. |
0:36.6 | We're going to talk about picking the ideal weight class for you and different strategies for making a two hour weigh in. |
0:43.6 | Danny, typically you walk around about 76 77 kilos and you have to cut into the 74 class. |
0:50.2 | Whereas Arthur would be 90 kilos competing in the 93 class. |

1:51.2 | But at the same time, what would be required in terms of getting to a point where you can, |
1:59.0 | I suppose, go into that weight class with sufficient amount of muscle mass |
2:02.6 | is going to be quite a long process. |
2:04.6 | Because at least where I'm coming from in terms of picking weight classes is that you want |
2:12.6 | to go into probably the highest weight class you can whilst being relatively lean. |
2:20.3 | And we can talk about what relatively lean means later on because what point excessive body fat is actually |
2:27.3 | excessive can depend on a number of different things. First, gender is going to impact what is |
