why do we have presidents? Excellent question. A president is chosen to help lead a country and make big

decisions on behalf of the people. In the United States, the president helps enforce laws,

works with Congress to make new ones, leads the military, and represents the country to the rest of the

world. Having a president helps keep things organized.

Instead of everyone trying to decide everything at once,
