Welcome to Five Live cricket in the one-nill up in the three-match test series after yesterday's eight wicket victory over New Zealand in Christchurch.

So we'll look at that where it went right for them, the impressive performance of Briden Castle, also Jacob Bethel's future as well, former England bowlers Phil Toffnell and Stephen Finn are with us,

as is the BBC's chief cricket reporter,

Stephen Schemalt, who is in New Zealand, getting ready for the second test. Phil, let me start

with you. What were your overall thoughts of that first test? It was a good test. Great start

to the series for England. As you said, lots of boxes ticked along the way as well.

But, you know, one of them, you know, Harry Brooke, I think it was 170 for seven, wasn't it?

So if they would have held those catches early on, it could have been a little bit tighter,

but England would be delighted to get off to a winning start on the tour, yeah.

Lots of things, Ben Stokes looked good as well with the bats and sort of, even though after a bit

of an injury scare, seems to be all right. So England will be full of confidence.

What impressed you the most, Stephen?

I think Bride and Cast, you referenced it in your opening statement there.
