Family business. Whenever a CEO writes, Gene, in The Guardian, whenever a CEO says their employees are quote family, they're

lying. Your company is not your family. Okay, Gene, what's that mean? Well this came because of a common from Brian Chesky

used to see of AirB&B.

And he was interviewed in some podcast

and said he admitted his company's not a family.

He used to refer to his people as a

family as employees and any realize like you don't fire members of your family and

it is a it is it is so true and it's a reality check on people whenever people that run

businesses to say that our businesses are our employees are like our

our family I wouldn't I wouldn't take that too seriously.

But the column, by the way, is it was not necessarily to dispute that

because I don't think any employee in 2024 really really believes that their

employer considers them as family but they that's a good thing if that's not a

bad thing at all because you don't want to be part of an employer's for them.

I have a lot of family-owned businesses, construction manufacturers and

transportation firms and retailers, people and all sorts of different things and I gotta tell you something
