I'm John Batch with Gene Marks, the small business columnist for the Guardian newspaper,

the UK and the U.S. edition, our hometown newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer.

And we're looking now at the AI report. Question is, is AI good for your business?

Gene, there's indication here that it is.

How so?

Well, a new report just came out, and this was reported in CNBC, this study from PWC that basically said that, hey, AI actually makes workers more valuable, not less valuable.

And it's the common narrative that I've been hearing over the past few months.

And I mentioned in our previous segment, John, that I was in Vegas at the AI CPA conference, 5,000 CPAs.

And I interviewed a bunch of people there.

And we were talking about AI in the accounting profession.

And every person, to a last person, we're all like, AI is great.

It is not going to replace people.

It's going to make people more productive and more valuable to their clients and all that kind of stuff.

And I'm not so sure I agree, John.

I'm really not.

I mean, when you look at the accountants and I look at accounting firms, there are a number of accounting firms that pay accountants to prepare tax returns and do tax research.

And I know for a fact that there are AI systems available today, which get better and better, that you can subscribe to that we'll do that exact thing.

We'll do tax research for you

and we'll also be able to prepare, you know, tax forms. Now, I'm not saying that it doesn't

need a little bit of human oversight because you can never rely 100% on AI. So it'll make some

workers more productive, but I really do believe that it is, it really is going to replace lots

of workers, pretend specifically in service industries that, you know, whether the work themselves
