| 0:00.0 | This is CBS I in the world with Gene Marks. I'm John Bachelors. |
| 0:08.2 | We turn to Gene for his comments about the Biden administration's regulations and its |
| 0:13.8 | budget. First, the budget gene. The president's budget is a political statement. He's preparing |
| 0:19.8 | to run for reelection. Good for him. In general terms, raising taxes on the well to do in |
| 0:27.6 | order to offset some of the burden of Medicare, which can be extended. And at the same time, |
| 0:34.1 | the president says he can reduce the deficit. Now, these are all different directions. Is |
| 0:38.8 | there a way to translate all that for small businesses? Study as she goes, find good workers |
| 0:44.6 | and hold on. No bad news here. Yeah, I've got three three messages for small business. |

| 1:16.0 | he stands, when it comes to raising taxes, his two big things or as biggest things raising |
| 1:21.0 | taxes on the wealthy and increasing corporate taxes as well. And I said this for years, too |
| 1:27.8 | many small businesses in this country, and I'm one of them, we rely on the wealthy and big |
| 1:32.8 | corporations for a lot of our work. Many small businesses provide services for big corporations, |
| 1:37.8 | anything from landscaping and marketing. And many small businesses serve the employees |
| 1:42.0 | and households, not only in contracting, but selling them pizzas and having them come into |
| 1:46.6 | their dress shops. So, you know, when you take money away from the wealthy, when you tax them, |
| 1:51.0 | when you make it an unfriendly environment, that has a trickle down effect on a lot of small businesses. |
| 1:55.4 | So that's number one, my number one concern. Number two is this part of his proposal to attack |
