One such moment for me was the highlight of the entire filming process for the On Fire movie.  Let me explain.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes the best days, the best moments in life even, are totally unplanned.

It was one such moment for me that was the highlight of the entire

filming process for the movie On Fire. Let me explain. As the sun began to rise on December 6,

2023, we made our way to the On Fire pre-shoot meeting. On this 19th day of filming, we prepared to capture the day

that Jack Buck had promised to a little boy in a hospital bed. It was the promise of John

O'Leary Day at the ballpark that sustained me during the most agonizing of times, and it was something

my family and I experienced together in August of 1987.

The St. Louis Cardinals were generous enough to open up their home, roll out the red carpet, and

provide the space and the backdrop for these critical and these beautiful scenes to be captured.

As generous as the St. Louis Cardinals were, though, the entire

baseball field had just been replaced with Newside, and it was currently in its most delicate state.

They had to be very direct with our crew of several hundred, more than a dozen actors, and a large,

large contingency of extras. Many of them are listening to my voice right now.
