to offer his perspective as a shop owner on the state of the bike industry and the ski industry.

Then, Ulan and I talk about the World Cup finals that are being held in Sun Valley next year.

We talk about Sun Valley's really impressive racing programs and some of the things they're

doing there that might be good ideas for race programs elsewhere to consider.

We kind of then go down a bit of a rabbit hole

on the topic of ski-based flatness.

Who should really obsess about it,

and maybe who can afford to obsess a little bit less about it.

This episode of Gear 30 is presented by the 5850 Fest,

which will be held in Sun Valley from March 20th through the 27th of next year

during the World Cup finals that we were just talking about.

5850 Fest is a seven-day celebration that will welcome locals, athletes, and spectators

from all around the world to toast the peak of the Alpine racing season.
