because they're a member of one party or the other who just suffered a major election

loss.

However, fear not, you're both right.

Turns out there is, indeed, something fundamentally broken with the way we vote in the United States,

as determined by math, statistics, and election theory.

And we actually can fix it, if that's truly what we want to do.
