Summary

If we are going to raise our children well in a technology-saturated culture, there's something most adults are going to have to do first.  Colossians 3:2 says, "Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth." Six-year-old orders almost $400 worth of toys by Blake Atwood. Would you shop at Walmart in a virtual

0:24.5

showroom? The company recently applied for intellectual property patents that would allow VR

0:30.9

headset owners to browse their store shelves via virtual reality. The experience may still be years away, but Walmart is working on this

I also spoke with my twin teenage nieces casually asking them about the

2:04.8

rules their parents had set for texting. They were kind enough to answer and didn't seem too

2:11.4

terribly embarrassed that their uncle was inquiring about their texting habits. During our

2:16.9

conversations, I couldn't help but think

2:19.6

how different the world is in which they're growing up compared even to my generation, and

2:26.9

apparently I'm a zennial. My interrogations were motivated by my future, namely, how am I going to raise my three-year-old son in a world that longs to steal his attention away from what really matters?

At this point, I'm tempted to quote most of Andy Crouch's book, The Tax Wise Family, Everyday Steps for Putting Technology
