Hello, welcome back to another half-size-me episode. I am your coach Heather and it has occurred to me.

I haven't told you much about my story as of late. I always know we get new listeners to the show.

This might be your very first time tuning into today's episode and I just like to give you a quick back story.

So I had struggled with my weight my entire life pretty much ever since third grade and always in the obese to morbidly obese

category. I struggled with binge eating as young as nine. I really had a rough relationship with food.

Been on and off pretty much most commercial basic diets that you can get your hands on. I've rotated through them,

especially through my 20s and what ultimately happened was when I got pregnant when I was 30 with my first son

had a moment of clarity or insight that if I wanted his relationship to be different with food.

I had been a teacher. I'd worked with at risk youth. What I knew was he really wouldn't listen to me as much as

watch my behaviors and then kind of model that. So I wanted to have a different experience for him.

So I can't tell my kid, hey, eat vegetables when I'm not eating vegetables. You know, eating all those

pizza every week, probably not a good idea when I'm doing it, right? So I had to be willing to go about my

weight loss in a totally different direction. In the past, it had always been what can

I do to lose the most weight in the shortest period of time? How can I lose the most weight for this event?

It was always very time driven, losing as much as possible in a short period of time.

And there was a very simple quote that I for some reason had always come across and I appreciate it from Albert Einstein,

which is we can't fix the problem from the same level of thinking that created the problem.

AKA we can't keep doing the same behaviors. We can't have the same thinking around the problem and think that the problem

in of itself is going to change. I had to change how I thought about weight loss, how I approached weight loss,
