Today on the exam room. What I found absolutely fascinating by the way is that

incredibly there are only four health conditions that account for 80% of all premature deaths in the whole world, which is heart disease, cancers, lung disease and diabetes.

And the crazy thing that I couldn't believe was about 80% of these could be prevented by just having four simple healthy lifestyle habits which include a healthy diet predominantly predominantly plants, regular physical activity, sensible use of alcohol and not smoking.

And the one that's the most powerful of all those four simple health habits is what we put on our plate. In fact, an unhealthy diet contributes to more death and disability than smoking, alcohol and drug use combined.

So when I kind of really began to realize the power of our plates, that's when I decided, well, I'll give it a try and I've had the confidence then as well to talk to my patients about it and I have done really well too.

You know I was able to bring my cholesterol down.

I used to get a lot of knee pain as well when I was running and I've not had knee pain in a very long time and I've run another

marathon as well since I went plant-based and no knee pain at all throughout all of my training.
