That is me. I'm Dr. Adam, professor of interpersonal and family communication, and a long-time follower of the TLC series, Sister Wives. And it is once again my privilege to talk about that show

with you today. I don't know what's gotten into me today, as my mother-in-law would say. Somebody put a

nickel in me today. I'm so rarin to go today. Big day. If you missed it,

first and foremost, which is me talking about sister wives season 19,

episode 12, titled, Put Your House in Order. There is some putting in order here,

let me tell you. So we start this episode in Parowan at Lizzie's Heritage Inn, and the sound design

with this opening of the episode, I thought was really

interesting. It's just silence over Parowan B-roll, and then some noise, insect noises, maybe,

I'm not exactly sure what it was, but I found it quite pleasant. And then they interrupt it

with, you don't see him yet, but just you hear Cody crying off camera. Then they cut to Cody and Mary embracing.

So we're right back to that moment still of kind of the end, the real end, right? The official

end of their marriage in many ways, although it's kind of funny because Mary ends up interacting

with Cody for most of the episode, but we'll get there. And so the big thing online, right,

is why is Cody upset? This is what

Cody has wanted. I don't think this was what Cody wanted. I don't think Cody wanted to deal with

the work of ending the relationship. I think Cody just ideally, if it was possible, and it's not

Cody wanted Mary and the whole thing to just kind of disappear without him having to do anything
