Hi, everybody. Welcome to the podcast. I'm Dr. Adam. I'm the sister wives professor. I am a professor

of interpersonal and family communication at a university somewhere on the planet. So special day

today going to talk about the sister wives special. I had said in earlier podcasts, I was on the fence

about whether or not I was going to even review this episode because I didn't know that there

would be enough original content. And indeed, there's a lot of like B-roll or reused footage

of episodes that if I, if there was anything for me to say about that footage

I've already said it but I did watch it I did take notes and I think I have enough stuff to talk

to you about to make for hopefully an entertaining podcast so I hope you like this one we open up the

show with Natalie Morales giving a voiceover with, like I said, lots of clips

of the first season.

We see all the wives and Cody being interviewed by Natalie.

First thing that stands out to me is everyone is professionally done up.

The wives, especially their hair, looks professionally

styled. Janelle in particular looks amazing. Mary kind of has like the Rachel. You remember

like from season one friends? I'm not saying that's bad. I one thing you're not going to hear me do

on this podcast is critique the ladies' appearances.

I just don't do that. I'm just saying that Rachel was a popular hairstyle, and that's what this

made me think of. Cody, kind of looks like Cody. I don't know what you can really do with what he's

working with that he doesn't do himself. Speaking of Cody, he talks about how America already has prejudice against his lifestyle,

assumes that he's patriarchal.

Although it's funny because now Cody is a very proudly patriarchal person and expects his wives to submit to patriarchy.
