Summary

In today's episode, after a few thoughts on the Trump address to Congress and his BS spending plan, the topic is "How to change people's minds." Haeley and I set about to do some research on a: how possible it is to change minds, and b: if so, what are the best methods? I take a look at and describe a number of studies that shed light on this issue, and the goal is to apply it to both the Dr. Price debate and any future debates! Have a listen and see what conclusions we reached! After that I've got an extra long voicemail and response segment, since I didn't do one last week. 0:36.5	So today, as I alluded to last week, I want to talk a little bit about what actually changes people's minds and I know I
0:46.8	want to say that neither me nor Haley is has any psychology background or anything so this is not coming from experts and
0:55.5	that would be certainly a topic to discuss with an expert at some point but what I
0:59.6	wanted to do today was do a little research to understand that as a layperson and see maybe
1:05.8	how that relates to the discussion I had with Dr. Price and how it ought to
1:10.2	inform discussions going forward.

1:15.0	But first I want to talk just briefly about some Trump news, the address to Congress, not
1:19.9	going to spend too much time on it, just a couple minutes for a few thoughts on recent events like that.

1:27.1	You know this relationship between Trump and the Republicans is blowing my mind and
1:38.9	what's happening now is actually even more discouraging than I thought it would be. I tweeted, by the way I
1:45.2	tweet at at serious pod and for more kind of funny jokey stuff at T and the B. I don't know
1:52.2	I've pretty much I'm always going to have those two accounts
1:54.8	because there's no way to consolidate them in a good way but anyway follow those if you want
1:59.2	I tweeted the other day that Trump could literally adopt the Democratic platform like
2:04.8	issue for issue like word for word he could adopt that tomorrow I believe his
2:10.1	supporters would go with it immediately and I believe they would still hate
2:14.6	liberals and think liberals were trying to ruin the world even though Trump adopted
2:19.0	exactly what liberals are trying to do I really think that's true. And you know what? We can discuss it
