Summary

My guest this week is Aimee Terese, co-host of the Dead Pundits podcast. She is a self-described socialist, which allows us to shift the SI-Overton Window a bit to the left, for once. We talk about what socialism means to her, how liberals and socialists can and should work together, and more! Aimee has a background in philosophy and is currently studying law with an emphasis on critical legal theory. Leave Thomas a voicemail! (916) 750-4746, remember short and to the point! Ah, finally, 12 squared.

We got there.

So my guest today is Amy Terese, and she's somebody I started following on Twitter

0:41.0

a while back, and I've just been incredibly on Twitter a while back and I've just been incredibly

0:43.3

impressed with her thinking, her observations, her Air Eurydition, and getting to know her

0:49.2

a little bit more. I discovered that she is a podcaster as well.

0:52.8

She just recently started co-hosting podcast

0:55.3

and she has appeared on another podcast

0:58.5

with some really interesting analysis

1:00.8

of some of these centrist intellectuals and why ultimately what they're doing is

1:06.8

frustrating and a little fraudulent in some ways. So I'll let her talk about that

1:11.8

but this is a really interesting interview.

1:14.4

Amy also happens to consider herself to be a socialist, and I thought with all the people that I have on the show and all the opinions I talk about on the show that

1:24.5

tug our Overton window to the right I thought you know what I don't that often you

1:29.9

I've interviewed Dan Errol once and argued with them the whole time, but I don't, it's not that often

1:35.2

that I have someone way left of me on to drag that overton window the other way, and I thought that this would be

1:41.9

all kinds of good opportunity in many ways

1:44.6

and as it turns out Amy has academic credentials as well she's a very

1:49.2

smart person she's a very educated person lots to learn from. But one note I have to make, she also tends to

1:55.3

curse like a sailor, so, which I found quite endearing. But that, so this is an explicit episode, just a warning in case anybody's worried about that kind of thing.

2:06.2

There's some cursing in it, but I didn't want to take away from the authentic Amy Therese.
