host Thomas Smith. For today's episode I have a very fascinating discussion with

two guests Victoria Getman and Jeffrey Blackwell.

They are both affiliated with American atheists,

though in different capacities.

They're going to introduce themselves and talk about themselves a little bit,

so I'll leave that to them. But one thing I love about this show

show is that there was a time and there still is for a lot of people I don't want to sell

anyone short there was a time when atheists and skeptics weren't all about the culture wars, and they're still

atheists doing good work to increase visibility to help fight against the often unintentional Christian privilege

and infringement onto atheists and often intentional

Christian infringement on to atheists in this country and in the military

there certainly is a mixture of both I mean there there are plenty of people who just

don't know any better and think that Christianity is just the default and don't realize when

they are inflicting their views and making other people follow along with their

particular religion even though it's unconstitutional to do so and then there are people who kind of know they are doing it and do it anyway.

We're going to hear about some examples of that and from some people with actual experience on the front lines, both of having those experiences and how they were dealt with

and additionally legally what different organizations who are still doing good atheist activism are doing so American Atheists for one there's also the

FFRF two great organizations so let's get to the interview very interesting stuff it even involves a trip to the Pentagon so can't
