Well, I was set to do a small update on the Kraus situation, but then just while I was working,

he posted his response on Twitter and other social media and there's a lot to talk about with it.

There's stuff that I meant to say and didn't get to last time because that was a really long episode so let's just get into it and

see where we go. So now we have Krause's quote unquote explanations of things and I encourage you if you want to hear from him you can read the statement I'll of course link it as I always link everything

and I can't help but think man if only there were some sort of community or thought leadership

that could help us with a problem of taking claims about the world or about events,

sifting through the data of who and how many people have made those claims,

cross-referencing, positing different theories,

whether they be conspiracy theories,

or whether they be more simple explanations,

applying skeptical tools, applying thinking tools,

and trying to guide us toward a conclusion on what we should believe.

If only there was any community of people out there

that did such things.

This was the thought I was having as I was thinking about the excuse some people have given

that, you know, skeptics and atheists don't have any obligation to respond to charges like this.

There's no reason any one skeptic leader needs to respond to the Lawrence Kraus

allegations.

And I thought, you know, that's truly a shame if people feel that way.

Because in another universe where the skeptic movement is led and composed of skeptics.

That's not this universe, but it's saying another universe

...
